Pattern awareness art
KJ Keane’s natural pattern art began with her college art show “Perception of Pattern.” Since then her pattern art has blossomed into a variety of forms, sculpture, painting and pattern art activities for kids. Below we show an example of her paintings of natural patterns. KJ Keane took photos of bird specimens housed at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. She enlarged sections of those photos and enlarged them to focus on the intricate color patterns found on the feathers. Although the macro view of the birds obscures the original source of the colorful imagery, the vibrational essence of the creature remains intact and is amplified with this “deep looking.”
